Floating Body / Diving Mind is Kristoffer Lislegaard’s first full-length solo album, arriving a decade after his debut EP Pocket. Built from reworked improvised sessions recorded in Trondheim and finished in Oslo, it draws on philosophy of mind and the shifting relationship between the conscious and unconscious. Across four expansive pieces, Lislegaard creates a textured, enigmatic, and layered sound world that moves between meditative drift, choral glow, and large-scale rhythmic build, balancing longing, escapism, beauty, and hurt in music that feels both otherworldly and intimate.
Artist bio
Kristoffer Lislegaard is a Norwegian electronic musician and audiovisual artist based in Oslo. Since 2010, he has composed, performed, and released music as a solo artist and in duo and ensemble settings, working across ambient, noise, post-rock, club-oriented forms, and more exploratory electronic music. A common thread through his work is a fascination with how sound can be shaped and transformed through instrument design, custom software, improvisation, recording, and reworking, resulting in music that ranges from deep meditative textures to dense, layered sound design. Alongside his own releases, he has also worked as a composer and sound designer for contemporary dance, theatre, film, and installations, and has performed at Ekko Festival, Black Box Teater, Dansens Hus, and Moldejazz.
