Flere steder samtidig takes its inspiration from the idea of a place without people: a quiet, unobserved space that seems to disappear the moment it is entered. Using field recordings alongside electronic and acoustic instrumentation, Erik Mowinckel shapes a set of improvised, organic landscapes that feel both uplifting and melancholic. The music is patient and spacious, yet full of small movements and fine-grained detail, suggesting environments as much as melodies. Rather than describing a fixed scene, the album opens a shifting inner geography where warmth, distance, stillness, and motion can coexist. The title translates as Many places at once.
Artist bio
Erik Mowinckel is a Norwegian photographer, sound artist, and self-taught electronic musician based in Oslo. Since beginning to make music around 2008, he has worked across a range of genres before arriving at the ambient language heard here. His practice is shaped by field recordings, electronic and acoustic instruments, and a strong sensitivity to texture and melody, with an intuitive approach that also reflects his work in photography and visual art. Across these different forms, he shows a consistent interest in atmosphere, abstraction, and the emotional charge of place.
