The title «Neptun» refers to the planet Neptune. Invisible to the naked eye, it was originally discovered through mathematical deduction after scientists noticed unexpected changes in the course of Uranus. It was named after the Roman god of the sea. In addition to being ruler of the liquid element, he was said to have tremendous power over our subconsciousness and emotions, which we ourselves still today have little understanding of. The title represents the unknown, stretching from the depths of the human mind and oceans on our planet, to distant space.
The album is partly inspired by author Jens Bjørneboe’s novel «Haiene» («The Sharks») and the latter period of John Coltrane’s music.
Juxtaposition is wonderfully noisy. Vocal exercises, feedback art, and rumbling chatter-chaos = whistling beauty

Artist bio
Akmee is a collaborative quartet playing music inspired by the unknown things in the universe and the mind. Translated to more known musical terms, they find themselves within the realms of free jazz, contemporary classical music and psalms from southern Norway.
